Purgatori, the first wine from the Familia Torres in Costers del Segre, was created in 2012. It is sourced from their Les Garrigues estate, which has an extreme climate. Inspired by the history of the Benedictine monks exiled to this inhospitable place in the 18th century to work the land as penance, it is a Mediterranean wine. The 2022 vintage marks a turning point in the production of this wine with the addition of the ancestral Gonfaus variety to the blend. This variety was recovered by Familia Torres for its oenological interest and its ability to adapt to climate change.
 
Winemaker David Barriche and sommelier Sergi Castro will present this project through a vertical tasting of six selected vintages, culminating in the current vintage and the Gonfaus wine made from a single variety.
