El Rincón de Juan Carlos Restaurant (Los Gigantes, Tenerife)

Juan Carlos Padrón

Juan Carlos Padrón (22-9-76) was born in Icod de los Vinos. In 2001, he travelled to France to study at a 2 star Michelin restaurant. After completing his training in the best kitchens in the Canary Islands and the peninsula, he attended all of the courses taught by Ferrán Adrià at Vic from 1999 and then decided to start his own business with a very personal style and signature.

For 14 years, Juan Carlos, his brother and his mother have advocated a unique, special culinary style where flavour is what counts.

In 2016, the restaurant received a Michelin star.

In 2017, the International Academy of Gastronomy awarded him the international Chef de l’Avenir (chef of the future) Award, as one of the world’s leading chefs.

Jonathan Padrón

Jonathan Padrón (28-2-83) was born in Icod de los Vinos. A specialist in sweet cuisine, he advocates a fresh, light and fun style of confectionery. Always using the best products on the market, Jonathan developed the dessert menu of El Rincón de Juan Carlos. As he himself says: “You need to bear in mind that diners have just had a 15-step salty tasting menu; the desserts need to provide and end the experience with flavour but without being extremely calorie-filled.”
