Tasting of ancestral varieties revived by Bodegas Torres

More than 30 years ago, the Torres family launched a really exciting project: to revive ancestral grape varieties that were thought to have died out due to the ravages caused by the phylloxera epidemic in the late 19th century. This is an arduous project, using an innovative methodology that helps to revive the heritage of wine-making in Catalonia, and which, thanks to the boost provided by the fifth generation of the family, is currently in full swing, with nearly 50 varieties having been discovered of which 6 have great winemaking potential.
